RE:RE:RE:Oil migration and Chinook/Royston - some thoughts and pics
The next question ahead is............What If.........
What if the Royston-1 Overthrust Herrera 7bc is also Light Oil.........so we have a second and even bigger, like massive, light oil discovery in the 2nd test of the Overthrust 7bc ? Now that the Intermediate Sheet 7bc is proven flowing light oil.
Royston-1 is updip of Shell OL-4. Shell OL-4 was looking for oil but got "gas effect".
Updip Royston-1 should be in higher porosity rock than downdip OL-4. We already know deep down Royston-1 flows.
So there is a chance, that in fact Shell simply drilled in a sub-optimal place, with bad wellbore damage, and the gas they saw was in fact gas from the oil, which never flowed at that location.
But it may well flow, if its oil, at the Royston-1 location updip in better quality rock.
So, will the 2nd Royston test also yield light oil ? and is Royston simply a massive oil discovery in its own right ?
Stay tuned for the 2nd test results - expectation liquids rich gas - upside light oil - downside nothing flows. Spin the wheel...............
