RE:AOW -- Craig Steinke's JV PitchOnce again I am vindicated. Steinke refers to the seismic line he shows as "unprocessed seismic", what he means is "partially processed". Just to get to the point where it can be shown as a line, a lot of processing has already happened - statics correction, deconvolution, normal move out correction, common depth point stack, etc. Some of the most important processing has not been done on these lines - such as time migration. It's simply not possible to make bright spot (direct gas indicator) interpretations on partially processed data. Even less possible to assign hundreds of millions of barrels of oil reserves!! (And no, BP, it's not an "opinion" I'm dissing, it's a technical interpretation.)
