Turns out I do know a little about mining economics. Todays price doesn't matter if you aren't producing. In the next few years the majors will have responded to the high prices by ramping up production. Will prices still be high after that? Normal commodity cycle patterns suggest not. The battery metal markets might have a longer cycle due to greening efforts, but still it's hard to imagine sub-juniors with small, remote deposits competing on a cost basis with the majors who have had many years to develop supporting infrastructure -- rail, shipping terminals, and on-site processing.

I think the early moving happened in the US, followed by Australia, China, Chile, Mexico, and Argentina. I'd be happy if Ontario became a successful lithium source; it would be great to have the jobs here.
