RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:We Open Higher Next Week.Canada 155 years old.
CP Rail 140 years old.
CN Rail 102 years old.
How can the infrastructure be 200 years old?!?
A "little rain" was not what happened. Rain makes pavement wet and Canadians can drive in a lot worse. When creeks and rivers overtop their banks and remove/bury the bridges and entire sections of the road it doesn't matter whether the rest of the highway is in pristine condition when it has holes in it.
Rest assured that before the storm was even over thousands of pieces of heavy equipment and personnel were being scrambled to the places hardest hit. The rail companies will have their lines open in a few more days. Temporary bridges will be installed where ones have washed out, and new bridges will be built. Societies don't build fail-proof infrastructure becuase it would be cost prohibitve. You build it to be safe and last a long time but to be relaitevly easy to repair and replace if the $h!t hits the fan.
Also, in case you haven't noticed TCW DOES NOT SELL OIL OR GAS SO IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE LOWER MAINLAND IS CUT OFF FOR A FEW DAYS. There are no weelsites in Surrey. TCW can access all of AB and the parts of BC where they perform oilfield servicing work so this weather event won't affect TCW one bit.
