RE:Podcast with CEO of USA Rare Earth - supply from CanadaExactly... You have this contradiction within democrat and left-centrist politics that wants buy-from-home trade, economic and tax policy, but also wants climate change action. The reality is that we cannot have both at the same time. At least, we can, but we'll have to be careful about what specific industries and sectors follow that policy and where.

When geopolitics are ignored, you have a China that recently forceably amalgamated multiple rare earth companies into a super/mega company and is now doing business with... The Taliban???

The west simply can not afford to play hardball with each other at this point. We can figure out ways to strengthen policies that get us to buy from home when the fundamentals are figured out.

It blows my mind that neither party has entirely figured this out, but I am putting my money on rare earth metals, recycling technology, 3D printing etc that eventually, they do.
