After 10s of millions of years I'd expect, neglecting hydrostatic effects, the reservoir to be at uniform pressure throughout. Or in other words, if there were even the slightest of paths for hydrocarbons to get to Kawa then it's there by now.
Like it doesn't matter if a pressure vessel has a gaping hole or a pin hole. It will eventually empty if a pressure difference exists between what's inside and the pressure outside.
The other thing that baffles me is that I thought that the Canje source kitchen underlays that entire region where Kawa is. Wouldn't migration be more vertical than lateral since the greatest difference in pressure surely must be in the vertical plane because that's where the greatest stress occurs due to overburden weight.
