09:29 AM EST, 11/26/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Benchmark natural gas traded higher early on Friday as near-term forecasts see wintry weather coming for the Northeast and Great Lakes states, boosting heating demand.
Gas for December delivery was last seen up US$0.26 to US$5.32 per million British thermal units.
The National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected in the interior Northeast and New England, with storms expected for the Great Lakes states.
However long-term forecasts see most of the U.S. at or above seasonal norms for the six to 14-day long-term forecast, easing demand for the fuel.
