RE:The choiceGood morning Dfly, Chores are done, dogs fed, garden weeded, macaws screarching at the top of their lungs waiting for their arepa little legs moving up and down in a kind of fuuny imitation of how gringos dance. Lol
Ok, the well. I can only think of one situation of why they would pump cement through a BHA and it is a very f'n grave situation that I won't even mention here. Otherwise if there's too much calcium chloride accelerant in the cement or not enough lignosulfonate retarder and/or the hole is too hot then they would never, ever take a chance of plugging off their BHA.
But they may be experiencing seepage losses which may be a good sign. They may have drilled into a very course conglomerate with very high porosity and permeability. That squares with Dr. Budlong's statement that they're drilling near the mouth of the Berbice Canyon. I worked on the Inpex well offshore Suriname a few years back on the Atwood Beacon and without divulging too much info here I will say that we did drill a very long section of high seepage loss conglomerate fairly deep.
I won't divulge the mud weight but it was extremely high. So it's possible to have high mud because of high pore pressure and high seepage losses especially if the losses are in an upper formation. So that's what may be happening here but I don't know.
Most of the oil patch guys in Trinidad live in and around San Fernando. I know a lot of them, including a past work mate who is now a drilling manager climbing up the ranks with BP but now with a different company. He lives in San Fernando. I was thinking of emailing him to find out what's going on Kawa but thought better of it. I don't really want to know. They're only a couple of weeks away from finishing anyway. I wonder if they'll test. Have a great day! Now going to get on my bicycle and ride 30 km along the beach. Gotta keep my weight down. Bill Maher said that Covid uncovered the real health crisis in the US. Obesity. Something like 77% of Covid deaths in the US were obese with 50% of them having diabetes he said. I'm six feet tall and weigh 182 pounds. Gotta keep it that way. This new South African variant is a friggin killer.
They got this R-factor number or replication or reproduction factor that they go by. R-factor of 1.0 means 100 people infect 100 other new people and the virus persists but spread doesn't accelerate. R-factor less than 1.0, say 0.8, means that 100 people infect only 80 new people who then infect only 64 new people until no more people get infected and the virus dissapears for lack of susceptiable hosts. R-factor geater than 1.0, say 1.2, means that 100 people infect 120 new people who then infect 144 new people and so on and the spread accelerates. This new variant supposedly has R-fsctor close to 3.0 but WHO or CDC haven't confirmed that yet. And it may evade existing vaccines. So my only defence will be my own immune system which is governed by my gut biome where healthy gut biome is produced by not eating processed foods and staying lean and by exercising. So refreshing to be able to talk about non CGX stuff on this board. Thanks for this! Yeah so we'll see if new travel restrictions affect rig ops. Not too many obese people in Trinidad anyway. Gork's gone back home to Kerala, India. He didn't buy the rig.
