Bay and Grimes, Optimists live longerI agree 100%, My story is that in 1986 I had a bad accident, both legs broken, trapped under a trailered boat in an underground garage with my car running and no one knew I was there. The hospital spent almost a day getting the carbom monoxide out of me before they felt it was worth looking at my legs. I survived, they told me I would never walk again. I had 4 jewellery stores in a small chain of 32 that Birks wanted. I sold out from my hospital bed and retired at 39. Six months later I was walking without canes. I was set for life but bored. I figured that If I could market jewellery, which no one really needs I can sell homes that everyone needs. Today I am 73 and still working because I love it. The reason is that because every day is an " Extra " day I was not supposed to have. I don't care if I make money every day and because of that I am very successful. I Make sure that my clients have the best advice, even if I tell them that they should buy a less expensive model of home. Most times they listen and many have thanked me. Everyone, stop worrying about a few cents up or down, invest in what you are most interested in maintaining. Your happiness and your integrity. Life is too precious for anything else.
