The late Ronald Reagan had a sayingWhich went like this - "The nine most terrifying words in the english language: I'm from the government and I'm here to help." And certainly the government has had a helping hand for this company providing $100 million in start up capital gratis the taxpayers of Canada and province of Quebec. In fact a lot of the orders this company seem to have these words " The order is conditional upon the satisfactory grant of funding under the Quebec government's School Transportation Electrification Program and the Canadian federal government's Zero Emission Transit Fund."
Yup there is no doubt about it that the Quebec government likes to heavily subsidize its companies. Another Quebec based company by the name of Bombardier is another company which over the years has been a money pit to the taxpayers of Quebec and Canada. And in my estimation this company could very well be the next Bombardier.
Compare Lions to the leader in EV vehicles Tesla and the difference is like night and day. When Elon Musk started Tesla he provided the startup capital. In fact hes even turned down subsidies from the EU for battery plants in German. This is why in my opinion Tesla is a success and this company will for ever more be holding its hand out to the government everytime it needs money.
