November operational report “In November, our hearts and operational focus were laser focused on helping our fellow Canadians with urgently needed humanitarian relief,” said Senior Director, System Operations Control. “We kicked things off by working with Canadian North and supporting operations to Iqaluit with bottled water, providing safe drinking water to the city’s residents.
“Working in coordination with our Government Relations colleagues, we also contributed to relief efforts on the other side of the country with expanded capacity at both mainline and Jazz to help with evacuation efforts and those displaced by the devastating flooding in lower mainland B.C. We also added a lot of cargo capacity to help deliver emergency supplies to the region.
“Beyond humanitarian relief, there was much more to be proud of with numerous route restarts and the corresponding welcoming back of many more colleagues. Hiring and training is well underway across many areas of the operation as we prepare for our holiday peak.
“Speaking of which, Montral, Ottawa, and Toronto all received an early refresh on winter operations preparedness at the end of the month — excellent practice for our holiday peak and more winter operations to come. The weather may be below freezing, but there is much to celebrate, be proud of, and look forward to with growth, peak holiday traffic and more routes in December.”
