RE:RE:RE:CRU says LME prices to average $3,500/MT next yearIt's good to look at all sides of a potential shift in market dynamics. We don't know what TCs will be, nor do we know what zinc prices will be.

There's full-on market manipulation taking place with uranium, and I don't dismiss that possibility with zinc. Smelters are in a position to do this, by shutting down capacity so that TCs are forced higher, and then restoring the capacity to reap profits.

Having said that, if the choice is between (1) zinc price of USD 3150/mt and TCs of USD 159 on the one hand and (2) zinc price of USD 3500/mt and TCs of USD 200 on the other hand, anyone would choose option (2). The point I am trying to make is relative advantage of substantially higher zinc prices despite having to live with slightly higher TCs.
