RE: direct reduced iron production with green hydrogen
Hello Tcheck. What do they do with that hydrgen? Do they use it to produce electricity? If so...they can feed PYR torches. Anyway...using electricity to produce hydrogen by electrolysis (what iberdola is going to do in that plant) to produce electicity again...means loose of energy. Just use that electricity directly. That only makes sense when electricity from the grid can not get to the place where it is needed. Then you produce hydrogen, transport it to the place and then produce electricity with it. But that electricity can feed a PYR plasma torch,anyway. An other important thing is: are they speaking about downsteam (to make steel from Iron ore pellets)? Iron ore pelletization is upstream. That is where PYR is focused.
