thank you for the insightful comments regarding mutual fund's MER. Your comments are valuable and usually not aware by small investors. I think there is a legal limit for the MER which is less than 5% however sponsors have many creative ways to charge all different expenses to eat up most of the profit. I only aware one mutual fund that will not charge any MER unless the net return is above 10%. This fund has very high threshold.
My intention is for pico amount investor who can invest less than $100 each time. Before they accumulate enough to buy any good company with a reasonable overhead, they can consider some of the mutual funds.
