I thought at one point you were a player and I never understood how a real player could be so arrogant. Now I get it. I misread your situation which is my mistake and I apologize for being so brutal and rude. I won't bother you again.
BTW, I never had a problem with your investing strategy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying and holding good companies. The buy/hold strategy gets better if companies pay a dividend and the investor can reinvest the dividends as the strategy reduces the risk. The key to long term success for the strategy is to reinvest the proceeds.
Unfortunately, the strategy is lost on most young investors (people under age 50) as so many people want to take short cuts. If people can live off their earnings and reinvest the dividends, it is surprising how fast their equity will build. The expression "the rich get richer" is never more relevant than in the stock market but it takes time.
The real "difference maker" in building wealth imo is knowing when to sell and having the discipline to execute the trade. It is extremely rare to find a situation where you can't get back in for a lower price if you pay attention to the patterns or warning signals leading up to a sell.
If one is not prepared or equipped to play the investment game on a fairly serious basis, it is better to just buy low cost ETFs (preferably in specific areas if you can afford the time to identify them) and spend the little time that you have for investing trying to figure out which direction the investment winds are blowing.
I expect I will slip back into the ether again for awhile as it is likely going to be a couple of months before ENB offers something to talk about. I didn't want to disappear without apologizing for reading your situation incorrectly."
