RE:RE:LodgeLink Traction and Scale - 2021Hi Smokey, I feel the same way. The one saving grace about BDIs business and share price being undervalued at present time, is that the actual business would be worth a good deal more per share than it is currently trading at if it were to be acquired. Unlike some other industries, BDI has hard assets that are currently producing good cash flow across a diverse array of sectors/industries plus they now have LodgeLink which is like it's own SaaS startup with great traction so far.
I've owned BDI on and offer since about 2015 and I think the main factor in the low volume is that BDI really took a hit when oil prices dropped at that time and they had a negative EPS for the last 5 years until recently completing a truly amazing turnaround. So that coupled with the dividend cut about 4 years ago really impacted the level of interest from investors. At this point I am surprised that trading volumes haven't bounced back with how attractive BDI is as a business now. I also follow the daily trading and Level 2 bid/asks and I agree completely that this stock is highly manipulated on a daily basis and it is extremely easy to do so with such low volumes. There's some really wonky trading and price fluctuations all made possible by really low trading volumes. That said, BDI is looking extremely attractive at it's current price. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of spare cash to invest at the moment otherwise I would be loading up and adding to my position. I truly believe this stock could easily be trading around $6.00 and it was pretty close after the last earnings results. There's been no negative news and perhaps it just the market as a whole keeping the price down.
