NGD has really shown poor judgement over the last few years since the Oliphant days .Now they are selling most of the rest of thier "jewel in the crown" Blackwater ,who is doing the buying ?one of the better streaming companies Wheaton ,Wheaton pays a dividend and has a superior share price performance ,Artemis gold corp(not the Aussie Artemis) is developing Blackwater .So perhaps a way to make back losses from Harte would be to buy Artemis or Wheaton and not own NGD .For a super speculative play ,one of the geologists who found Blackwater runs ISG which is exploring a find not too far from Blackwater in BC.
The reason for NGD selling a great find like Blackwater to raise money raises the question ,WHY??? ,perhaps NGD needs the money for something not yet announced (they are having problems with thier main producer New Afton and Rainey River ) ,they have apparently lost 25million on Harte ,whether they would send good money after bad into Harte by selling Blackwater would not seem to be a great decision but time will tell. To outbid Silver Lake would require them to pay more than full price to SVL on the two loans they now own and then spend more to get the Harte mine running profitably .That would probably require 100-150 million one would think .So we wait and see .The amount of trading done by Blackrock in Silver Lake are not large amounts of money .Silver lake share price is increasing as they are clearly in the drivers seat with a no lose situation.
