RE:RE:Hi sparkyHi Sparky, I went looking for what the difference is between an active hydrodrocarbon system and an inactive one. Here's what I found: A source rock that generates petroleum, either biogenically or thermally. If a source rock was active in the past, it is either inactive or spent in the present.
Also a petroleum system is defined as having 4 components - source rock, migration pathway, reservoir rock and seal or trap.
So I take the update to mean that oil is still being generated in the Canje source kitchen and migrating to several reservoirs, each with a seal.
But I know little about geology. Looks promising though.
