So WHY isn't PHD processing the stockpile? Did a little research on open pit mining for gold. "As a rule of thumb, open pit mining can process ore for $10 per tonne and, where the ore grade is more than double that at $20 per tonne, results would be economic."
$10/tonne is less than .2 grams of gold per tonne. And that is in an open pit, where they have to drill and blast before loading up the trucks to take the ore to the mill. PHD only has to shovel up the ore and drop into the mill feed box.
So why haven't they started this? It's not because the operation is uneconomic. Maybe its because they don't know how to start the mining process? Maybe they don't have that skill set? Can they find someone who does?
