Covid deaths vs cases - Dec 5th to 18th

South Africa had 380 deaths out of 272,040 cases = 1.4%
Russia had 15,692 deaths out of 411,583 = 3.8%

It looks like the less severe Omnicron has passed Delta in S. Africa.
Hopefully the scientists are right and the Omnicron variant will actually be a good thing once herd immunity is reached with Omni..
