Western Copper and Gold Corporation is a Canada-based mining company. The Company is engaged in developing the Casino Project. The Casino Project is a copper-gold mining project in Yukon, Canada. The Casino porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposit is located in west central Yukon, in the northwest trending Dawson Range mountains, approximately 300 kilometers (km) northwest of the territorial capital of Whitehorse. The Casino project is located on Crown land administered by the Yukon Government and is within the Selkirk First Nation traditional territory and the Tr’ondek Hwechin traditional territory lies to the north. The Casino Property lies within the Whitehorse Mining District and consists of approximately 1,136 full and partial Quartz Claims and 55 Placer Claims acquired in accordance with the Yukon Quartz Mining Act. The total area covered by Casino Quartz Claims is approximately 21,126.02 hectares (ha). The total area covered by Casino Placer Claims is 490.34 ha.

Disruption in the North: The Yukon Chamber of Commerce launches the website and begins registration

 

 

The Yukon Chamber of Commerce launched the website and began registration for Opportunities North 2018,the pre-eminent,annual northern business conference,which is expected to attract 200 to 300 delegates to Whitehorse in October. This very successful conference is a long-running partnership among the Yukon,Northwest Territories and Edmonton Chambers of Commerce,and hosting rotates between Whitehorse,Yellowknife and Edmonton.

 

This years conference theme is Disruption”,speaking to both changes and the potential opportunities associated with todays business landscape,in the Yukon,the North,and beyond. The conference will feature sessions on economic,environmental,social,geo-political and technological disruption as articulated by speakers from the business community including First Nations development corporations,and governmental speakers from across the North,the rest of Canada,the US,and beyond.

 

 We are looking forward to hosting business community representatives from the Yukon and our partner chambers in the NWT and Edmonton,and look forward to learning from one another during the two-and-half days of conference sessions.said YCC Chair Stanley Noel. He added,We are particularly excited to have keynote speaker Dominic Barton,Managing Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Company,who will address disruption speaking on the future of capitalism and the role business leadership can play in creating long-term social and economic value.
