RE:Newfoundland carbon emissions will be good for H2 dome. Crunchy I thought everyone on this board agreed not to talk about Canadian and US political views, it is a no win situation, those that don't believe can never be convinced and those that believe will never unconvi nved, so let's stay focussed on SALT, making money is basically universal. I simply don't know why you keep going back to political jabs.
One good thing we have in our favor with SALT is there will be no TAX LOSS selling, only buyers looking for future gains. A couple of days before Christmas and the price of SALT is holding steady near $1.50, I suspect anyone wanting a position or wanting to build a bigger position will be buying from here until January 2022,
I agree that the article you posted is good for SALT in the long-term, as long as the salt dome is structured to not allow gas to leak. This has been identified as a problem from studies out west. They also tried to do this in Nova Scotia but First Nations blocked it and the project was abandoned.
At Alton, they planned to store natural gas deep underground near Stewiacke, NS. The natural gas would be stored in engineered salt caverns, a proven and safe storage system. The Alton project had two work sites, a river site on the banks of the Shubenacadie River estuary, and the natural gas storage cavern site about 12 kilometres away. This was deemed a sensitive area.
I don't think this will happen in NFLD, so all good for SALT.
