RE:RE:RE:QRR news releaseWasitreallyok ... Yep! That's exactly that.
Using the same input that the current players are using now, but deliverying the output at much lower cost and in a greener way (ESG, lower GHG footprint), they will have made the disruptive demonstration that they're going to be the go-to guys of silicon.
Then, in the next phase, they will use lower purity raw material as an input (ref.: Nov. 2016 press release -
PYROGENESIS ANNOUNCES THAT PUREVAP™ NOW SUCCESSFULLY PRODUCES 4N+ (+99.99%) SILICON METAL FROM LOW PURITY QUARTZ) and repeat the demonstration that they then did with GEN1 but this time, with GEN3.
This will be jaw-dropping to current competition and fun time ahead for long shareholders.
Remember that 2 major players control 80% of the high purity quartz market. We'll shift them by being able to use lower purity quartz to produce the same quality of silicon. Isn't it wonderful?
Duopoly of Quartz Corp. and Sibelco Characterizes Global High Purity Quartz Market
Two companies, Quartz Corp. and Sibelco, dominate the global high purity quartz market with a market share touching 80% with both having an operational presence in Spruce Pine, U.S. Manufacturers seek to diversify by looking for alternate sources in Canada, Mauritania, and Australia, but these fail to meet the strict standards set by IOTA. The vast majority of companies in the high purity quartz market are private enterprises that enter into contracts with end-users. Quality and purity are the paramount factors determining the price of quartz. Demand is predicted to far exceed supply in the forecast period, leading to price hikes in the high purity quartz market.

Then a true comparrison can be made on the costs for the finished product. Plus the comparrison of which product was produced with a greener production process would also be equal.
Once they have proven the HPQ process is cheaper and greener using all the same input products of their competitor they can then bring in lower quality quartz to prove their processes.
