EIT's written response to my email

EIT's written response to my emailThank your for your inquiry.

Canoe EIT is expected to pay a special distribution of an estimated $0.44/unit.  The distribution being paid will be as a notional distribution.   This means that the  distribution will be paid via issuance of the same class of units of the Fund. Unitholders will not receive any portion of the distribution in cash. Immediately after the distribution is issued, additional units arising from the special distribution and outstanding units of the Fund will be consolidated such that the total number of outstanding units held is unchanged.

In other words, you will see the distribution reflected in the average cost of your units.  You will not be receiving extra units or cash paid out.
