tailings and sterile

tailings and sterileIn the discussion on a potential partner or takeover candidate, one thing that gets overlooked or under-discussed is the propertty of serpentine and olivine to neutralize carbon. The lab results on carbon absortion of the Crawford tailings is off the charts. Mark joked that they could become a carbon absortion company with on the side nickel credits. But there is also all the rock that gets excavated before you get to the ore bodies in this open pit setting which has the same carbon neutralisation property. One can imagine a simple carbon neutral set-up, windmill type (it runs when it's windy, doesn't when it's not) to grind down the waste rock to increase its surface exposure to air and carbon. CNC could become a monstrous carbon sink.
All that to say that in potential suitors, I would add companies who are in great need of carbon credits. They probably wouldn't want to run the mine if it's not their expertise, but want to be a substantial partner to take advantage of the credits.
