RE:RE:RE:Another stellar dealChi, we'll agree that there is plenty of upside for QTRH in F22.
Regarding the Apple case at CAFC, I know you have posted previously that you think it will be sent back to the district court. I didn't hear that in listenting to the oral hearing recording (several times). I like to think that signals suggest a resolution with Apple, hopefully a comprehensive solution, is near at hand.
The reorg does raise negative possibilities. On balance tho, I don't share your interpretation. First, I will acknowledge that the headline regarding Paul Hill can be read as a negative, but the headline regarding the reorg is positive. Remember what Gillberry said on the call...that the changes were inevitable and were made now because the resources were in place to make them now. He also said that Paul remains a substantial QTRH shareholder. Note Paul Hill's updated LinkedIn profile shows his occupation as Technology Investor. From a purely person perspective, if Hill felt the QTRH business was heading in the wrong direction, he would have unloaded his shares, which clearly he has not done so. Maybe Paul is counting on QTRH stock appreciation for his Technology Investor seed money - that 300K shares, 1.4M options and $100K of debentures plus 2021 performance awards.
The IP business will not be given away imo. While Brett Kidd is not vested in the Wilan business, the BoD certainly is - big time. The talked about F21 EBITDA will not materialize and is disappointing, as was the Motorola license. However, a prospective buyer of Wilan will need the assess the difference between the F21 licensing revenue and the corporate claim that a normal run of operations produces ~$30M per year. Gillberry sounded confident in Wilan's ability to assure investors that the revenue stream is both predictable and secure. The Marvell license probably speaks to that.
All the best for 2022.
