RE:RE:Good article on weed industry in CanadaI think decriminalization was part of it but just based on the the amount of excise taxes and OCS monopoly it is also abviously about making money. If the companies cannot make money then it plays into the hands of the illegal producers. There has already been a lot of consolidation but situation not getting significantly better because even for the larger names who have acquired multiple smaller companies. None of them are profitable. In the US some of the MSOs operating in states with lower taxation are managing to perform much better despite the fact they are restricted from exporting to Europe etc...due to federal regulations. I agree more consolidation needs to happen here and a leaf is one name that needs to be acquired.
