Vaccines serve to boast the body's own immune response that's it. Confusion has arisen because doctor google, Facebook and "bro science". No vaccine in history as ever prevented, The transmission  of the subsequent disease it was designed to provide immunity against. Vaccines serve as a layer of protection to prevent worsening infection/injury. 

The whole goal behind vaccinations was to reduce ICU admissions
