Oct. 25/2020 "Merger" is announced. Is this "effective"

Oct. 25/2020 "Merger" is announced. Is this "effective"date that determines Which "Portion" of Shares will be TAXED?????    I bought all my shares before that date.... maybe that's why my statement is the way it is????


All just my opinion/view/thinking/wondering.
