Because noone wants to be on a losing team. Everyone is jumping ship to greener pastures and to be honest so far they have been right to do so. And there are no new buyers replacing those jumping ship some of those leaving may never come back even if the share price recovers because they don't want to be burned a second time around. Everyone wants to be on a winning team not a losing team so until we see a change in trend and start getting some steady gains nobody is going to want to join the team until after it has recovered. That's my take.
