RE:Could HappenSaw it as well, Hedge. Glad you posted. I can't imagine FB is not tied into the patents sale in one form or another. That is to say, I can't imagine they're going to want to be shut down in the EU or pay fair value to a new owner for patents they've been infringing on for better part of a decade... as well as patents that a teletry or other patent expert could monetize at full value. Didn't FB once pay 19B for something or other. ;) Wonder what might that be in today's money and how might a teletry or other entity arrive at that price. That's the value of the three years of suffering right there. And what might 2000 licensee arrangements BB never realized be worth. Best not to set oneself up for disappointment by expectations of a big number, but don't be surprised if you see one. I'd say bare minimum 500M up front with nice tail and maximum 15B. To compute, you have to ask yourself who would want these patents, what might they be worth to those select companies and why. This could rival any past patent sale I'm aware of... especially so if it's 30K patents and not 20K. We're in the fun spot of nearly everything to gain and little to lose. If deal falls through, numbers over next year look outstanding.
