My point is that as a value investor (which I won't pretend everyone to be), I think that if the metrics are there to support that a share price is cheap, you don't have to try and time the bottom. Take a starting position when it's cheap, even if it can go lower. If it moves lower but the numbers haven't change, then add to the position.
It's not like stocks are only moving one-way. Most stocks go up and down all the time. Investors like me don't have time for that and will take decisions based on the financial numbers and setup their investments for a long period of time (multi-years).
