RE:Private electric jets

RE:Private electric jetsRead the article and they have very long way to mature a technology that doesn't exist. Will be even harder to certify for aviation industry. More feasible is electric hybrid running on SAF for short distance and or all electric but reduced range and payload. Long distance is hydrogen. Pratt and GE are already looking at modifying current engines to run with hydrogen fuel. While the engine makers mature the engine, parallel the industry is looking at hydrogen production and delivery mechanism. I think by 2024 Pratt Canada will run dehaviland dash 8 with hybrid electric engine. Smaller gas turbine engine powered by SAF fuel and electric engine by light weight batteries will be used for take off, and ether gas turbine or electric used for reminder of flight. So instead of bigger gas turbine engine it will have smaller gas turbine and electric motor to provide extra power. After take off the extra power is not needed. Either way bombardier airplane engines and aircraft will not be impacted with any new electric or hydrogen engine for decades.
