I can't think of a better criteria to choose a stock to invest in than the analysts' price target. Although I wouldn't hang my hat on the opinion of any one particular analyst, taken together the consensus analysts' price target is a powerful tool to use. In the case of BLX the consensus price target is $45.64 which offers a 47% upside price potential. I don't know of any other utility or power generation company which offers a better potential gain.
