You may be dealing with a fully-vaccinated, sensible population. But saying it's 'not a problem for most countries' is a gross generalization.
There is 'some' evidence that Omicron is less deadly, but it is also MUCH more contagious. Simple math (which I've seen other people do) and current results in the US and, less so, in Canada, means the sheer number of cases are still overwhelming hospitals and workplaces across the country. And people are still dying and still experienceing long covid symptoms - the less severe, just like the flu narrative tRump pitched at the beginning led to a lot of suffering and death and this one may, too.
I'd be more than happy to find the epidemiologists and Drs and statisticians I follow (because I know nothing) are wrong. But so far they are not. Stay safe!
