RE:RE:RE:Some of us hope admin. at SU are reading these posts!!!!!!!pooltec wrote: Thank you experienced. That is the type of response I am looking for. I will wait until for the q report and decide then whether to dump my shares. I have read the reponses regarding the effects of the green monsters on the future price of oil company prices. It seems the others are not affected by the greenies a much. So you feel there are no operation issues only a growth model issue?
Good questions...
I want to make one thing very clear. I am not recommending that people here dump their shares of SU. All I am saying is that when one company in the same industry is performing better than another in terms of the SP, there is a reason for it. Wise investors try to find out the reason and then make a judgement as to what they should do that is in their best interests.
In terms of your question about operational issues, I am not in a position to know whether there are more issues to come or not. What I can say is that the oprational issues that have come to light over the past year, have been temporary and in the case of the latest one quite minor in terms of its impact on the bottom line. That said, a string of setbacks, irrepsective of the company does reflect poorly on management and call into question the leadership of the company and this in turn often has an impact on how much people are willing to pay for shares in a company.
For me the lack of a plan to grow the company is the single most important factor in terms of where the SP goes. I mentioned this a while back and the lack of anything IMO by managment to address this is why I sold my stake after the dividend announcement, but also why I continue to watch the company closely. SU is clearly undervalued relative to its peers for that reason and if they announced a concrete plan to grow the company I would be back in in a flash.
