RE:RE:Bioasis WebsiteDid you try
https://www.bioasis.us/, Finallytherock? If you have an old bookmark that uses "www.bioasis.ca" then you will get a website parking page offering "bioasis.
ca" for sale. If you check godaddy.ca (yes, godaddy.
ca") you'll see that Bioasis either gave up the domain name or lost it through nonpayment and that it's now being
offered for sale by its current owner for C$1,364.21, no doubt at a nice little profit to the owner. It would have been so easy for Bioasis to keep the domain name and redirect bioasis.ca to bioasis.us, preserving at least the functionality of the URL. A "whois" search on bioasis.ca shows that the current owner's identity, no surprise, has been redacted from the listing.
As a Canadian, I was sort of OK with the "bioasis.
us" URL when it was introduced but certainly insulted that the "bioasis.
ca" URL was made non-functional. Most companies register multiple international versions of their domain names, redirecting them to their main sites if the companies have no commercial or other reasons to maintain separate international websites. It's considered a courtesy.
It wouldn't bother me (much) if "bioasis.
ca" redirects to "bioasis.
us". But "bioasis.
ca" is gone. If this was due to laziness or lack of attention, it wouldn't be the first time. There are a number of instances where Bioasis seems to illustrate a lack of attention to details, one that was paricularly bad that involved an annual report.
Bioasis should reclaim the domain name and redirect it.
The fact that anybody can buy it and make a fake Bioasis website out of it is a threat to the interests of Bioasis and its shareholders. A fake website that publishes false news could cause share price mayhem before Bioasis could counter with clarifications or rebuttals, especially with the CEO located on the other side of the world, at sleep during market hours and unavailable to respond.
Bioasis Technologies Inc remains a Canadian company, its shareholders are mainly Canadian and its dominent exchanges are the TSX Venture Exchange and the Alternative Trading System "exchanges." Besides solving the security and convenience issues, showing a little love and respect for Canadians by securing that domain name wouldn't hurt, either.

ps. For the record, with another instance of the issue being raised today, I had never before looked up the "bioasis.
ca" domain name and therefore discovered only today that Bioasis lost it. Blows me away.
