JPM and GS are famous for advising their clients in one direction and taking the opposite position for their own accounts. Although it was just a movie, "The Big Short" is a fairly accurate depiction of how the banks screwed over their clients in 2008 in 2008. It is a "must see" movie for every investor.
If I had to choose between advice from posters like Experienced and Migraine versus JPM or GS, I would always pick E & M because they don't have a hidden agenda and they have earned my respect. The same can't be said for JPM and GS.
