Actually, goverments have made quite a bit of money from the various taxes. The LPs have really paid the bulk of the costs related to fighting the black market trade. The excise tax was based on $10.00 per gram but that is not where it is now. The legal industry cannot survive in the current environment. This is a follow the money nighmare with a particular Canadian flavor ...all the early investors that paid the price....the big tax!
