RE:Enbridge purchases Northwest B.C. pipeline from ChevronNot sure but they do not have to pursue LNG to make good use of that pipeline. West Coast Energy can supply the north west of BC with natural gas using that feeder and they do not neccessarily have to pipe it all the way from Alberta. BC has plenty of its own NG along the route.
I wouldn't rule out an LNG facility especially with Woodside and Chevron looking to leave but I would imagine Enbridge wants to pick up the PTP for a song. They'll play down the plant for a now and sing the praises of the piipeline for BC NG distribution.
I am also not sure if that pipeline (which is not built yet) could be made to accomodate crude. Competition for Trans Mountain?
Goes without saying that it will be a while before it becomes accretive in any way.
Go Enbridge! ;-)
