The FLYY life (continued)

The FLYY life (continued)When we last looked in on the goings-on at Media Central, our leader Uncle Kirk had managed to lock himself out of his Twitter account and couldn't get back in. This happens all the time with visionaries and media gurus. In response, Kirk just did what Rupert Murdoch would do under the same circumstances, and set himself up with a brand new Twitter account. Of course, when you go to Uncle Kirk's new Twitter account you get this message: Caution: "This account is temporarily restricted." Consarn that durn Twitter machine! Always makin' fellers like Kirk jump through hoops, practically!

So, if you're keeping score, Kirk has 28 followers. Not a single soul from NOW Toronto is among them. But Michael Howlett is. That seems a bit unusual. Howlett, publisher of "Next Magazine," is technically a competitor of Media Central's giveaway newspapers in Vancouver and Toronto. He's also a co-founder of NOW who brought Kirk in as a consultant after Kirk flamed out at the Toronto Star.

One might theorize Howlett might be interested in re-aquiring NOW and possibly Georgia Straight, if these assets were to become available unencumbered at a fire-sale price (for the sake of discussion, say a token payment of $50k for the pair, and theoretically a second pittance paid somewhere down the road.) Is that what this means?

Nah. It probably means nothing. Hey, Kirk. Here's a helpful tip: You won't lose your car keys if you keep them on a string around your neck.
