Yab 2 well looked very good in Staniske Stanivske Field (License to December 25, 2015, with the right to extend) covers an 85.5 km2 area:
Approximately 24.2 kilometers of 2D seismic data has been completed on the Stanivske field and evaluation is underway.
The new seismic has defined a closure around the Yab-2 well, a well which was drilled by the previous owners in late 1989 and early 1990, which is currently In Conservation.
The Yab-2 well was discovered in 1990 and there is a faulted dip closure in the vicinity of the Yab-2 well.
There is an additional dip closure to the south west of the Yab-2 structure that is believed to be undrilled but prospective for the Sarmatian D sand section that has produced gas in the Yab-2 well.
The Yab-2 well tested 115 and 15.3 MMcf/d from two pay zones from 310-390 meters and 192-238 meters, respectively.
According to a 2007 abstract by Hafych, Kitchka and Gagych, reservoirs are sandstone with 10%-18% porosity containing approximately 95% methane.
A test of the Yab-2 well located in the Stanivske field license area was also completed during the quarter ended June 30, 2012. Cub intends to drill a well in the Stanivske field during 2013.
The Stanivske license has shallow, high-amplitude seismic events that seem to roughly correspond to the zone gas was recovered from in the Yab-2 well.
Additional work with seismic modeling of amplitudes with 3D seismic data will be required to definitively tie the shallow, high-amplitude events to the presence of commercial gas accumulations.
As many as six of these events were observed on the new seismic data and the Corporation is considering a drilling program to test the concept of gas being associated with high amplitude seismic reflections with certain characteristics. A 3D seismic survey covering 55 kilometres of the Stanivske license area is scheduled to commence in the 2nd quarter of 20
