If I compare 2 companies value now I use Market cap, but this not what I am doing. I am comparing shareholder's investment returns since 2016 to now in 2 companies.
If I had invested $60 in BTE and $60 in MEG at the same time back in 2016, I could have bought approximately 10 shares of BTE and 9 share of MEG and my $60 investment in BTE would be $46 today loosing $14 and in MEG my $60 would be $135 making $75 profit, so $135 is 3 times of $46. You calculate how you want to, but the reality for a shareholder is return on his/her investment.
idk what the roi is on a dollar invested in meg versus bte is since 2016. But what I'm telling you is that you cannot look at share price the way you have. Look at market cap relative to all of the balance sheet and production numbers.
