IADA Sees Robust Pre-owned Biz Jet Market In 2022

IADA (International Aircraft Dealers Association) released its Q4/21 market report and projects the pre-owned business aircraft market to remain robust in H1/22 with a strong  pricing environment and low inventory levels expected to persist. Dealers closed 20% more deals in 2021 versus 2020 with 1,372 aircraft transactions. Transaction values have increased an average 10% per month in the fourth quarter with this appreciation likely to continue into this year. The strength of the used business jet market bodes well for OEMs (i.e., BBD) as it reflects a strong demand and pricing environment for new equipment as well. It also reduces the competitive pressures from the used market. We heard both Textron and General Dynamics provide a positive outlook for the business aviation sector when they reported Q4/21 results
