Don't forget that the company does't control the shareprice as it's the market who decide which way it goes. The company is saying for actual investor and mostly to futur investors: "Don't worry about the expiry date, if it make's sense to us we will extend it so the investor gets the maximum for their money"

Always...Always see the shareprice as a direct consequence of the demand and supply for a stock at the present moment! The shareprice doesn't care about anything else than who wants to buy the stock and who wants to sell it...that's it
