The problem is the other (phonetype) image capture devices do not allow a dermatologist to make a proper assessment (42%fail rate) so it is hard to insure this. MedX image assessment fail rate is less than 1% according to their presentation so the Government will not fund a single supplier. I think the $70 charge is not so prohibitive to prevent people from being scanned. It is very Canadian to think our health care is free, it is not.
