There was a real question in the industry as to whether CVE and HSE could survive when the WCS price turned negative.

How could you possibly justify buying back shares when the company couldn't live within existing cash flow and was taking on debt? The household is broke but let's make extra payments on the mortgage?

Anyway no point arguing with some of the mentally ill posters that show up here. They ask such stupid questions. I wish the warden would pull the plug on them.

WRT tomorrow--will be interesting to see where dividends are set. SU already had a pretty good dividend rate when they announced their latest financials but the market howled with indignation about the buybacks when the divs did not increase. I'm betting that CVE hikes divs about 50% (still low) tomorrow morning. We shall see.
