DNT FORWARD STRATEGIES....Horsewithnoname, good posting.
Here are my thoughts about the strategies you proposed.
1. DNT will develop and run the mine - well not sure how many are out there that believe that is a good idea, even with non-existing pension funds that have lost their shirts already in 2011
Candente will need a partner for this option, which could easily be Fortescue or some other mid to large cap miner, then it’s viable. IMO Shareholders would be in favor of this option.
2. DNT makes a PP and finances the PFS and FS of the new small mine design - well, ok but why should we exclude the higher valued large scale project option, and it is a waste if the buyer wants to to mine more than 40000 topd
I do not think they are excluding the higher valued project, they are just presenting a lower scaled project option which will enable a small to mid cap miner the opportunity to come onboard or buy them out. They could easily scale up using cashflow once operational.
3. DNT finances PP, FS of the small mine, and in a year starts drilling CS and QV if permits are available plus another PP - mmmh not sure if the dilution this creates will ever be paid back by the share price increase
Candente has already proven everything required for a potential partner or buyer; 14 billion pounds of copper, 3.2 millions of ounces of gold…this could be a gold project instead of a copper project… plus Canariaco has been proven to be very economic with strong on ESG.
4. DNT has two PEAs plus a PFS in its hand covering large scale and small scale mining operations and now focusses its work on discussing takeovers with mid-size and larger companies - this is what I would do, keep dilution to a minimum and try to find two or more interested parties in the project and sell it off.
AGREED Candente needs to focus on option 4 ONLY.
They are clearly aware Fortescue wants them given the 19.9% stake they already own plus they have a seat on their Board of Directors.
It is also clear that others are also highly interested in Candente. Copper assets are highly aligned to the future of many companies; even car companies are securing copper assets for their EV’s.
Joanne has proven everything she will ever need to prove about Canariaco; adding more drilling, reports, etc. only cements everything she already knows, plus she knows that all the resources are going to get larger…more copper, more gold, more silver etc.
All potential partners or buyers are now clearly aware of what can be accomplished at Canariaco.
In many interviews, Joanne has clearly stated she only wants a fair value for the project and that she is a geologist and not a miner and that her expertise is finding copper and gold discoveries.
It is very hard and very expensive for producers to find an economically viable discovery like Canariaco, it is much easier to buy one.
She has found one of the best ecomonical copper discoveries in the world and I am confident she is in “discussions” with potential partners or buyers right now.
