That's exactly how I feel. Management caught lightning in a bottle with their crude by rail start up previously and I don't think the intention was for Tidewater Midstream to be a long lived independent entity. I think they wanted to lock up some assets at the bottom and flip it into a rebounding market, but the downturn in AECO and then COVID made the rebound take longer than they budgeted for and they branched out first to refining then to renewables.
I bought into the idea that they were building something to sell and that process has gotten complicated by their patchwork of assets and locations. I have faith in the strength of the producers in the deep basin and the montney, they will keep the key assets of the BRC and Pipestone operating at an economic level for years to come. When majors start BUYING assets in Canada again that'll be a sign to check out.
