RE:RE:RE:Love My Comics....how is this for some love
see what is made live preferably over animation...one can never lose buying Spiderman books hence my comment to damn about cementing his place over 60 years and this company needing to do sooner for faster potential gains. When people buy pennies they do so as people buy comics off the newsstand for huge gains but because they are not as well established there is lots of risks and as mentioned people sell off. There is a bit more to the comic market where people buy either raw books and clean and press them before getting graded so they look for books that they can improve the condition with and sell at higher priced. The book I sold was not clean or pressed and I sold it as an estimated 6.5 grade after asking really hard critics what they thought. The consensus was 6.0 to 7.5 with a few 5 grades the person will make it look better as it can likely grade up to 8.0 most likely. He will keep the book though. In that grade it is pushing $1000 so people do accepted fixing. You don't want to trim your comics or do anything other than clean and press or the book falls under restored grade and those are far less desirable even though they are often really gorgeous. Some people call crack the case where companies the preferred CGC has graded the book and people try to see if they can still go up even by half grades as it can be a difference of a few hundred dollars. The only thing is if you crack the case and CGC wrongly grades a book pages ripped missing etc you are screwed as people will say how do we know you did not tamper with it. So there are things people do to make monies and books are driven by movies mostly. I picked up several copies of Secret Wars 7 first Julia Carpenter second Spiderwoman as the movie rumors were swirling heavily. Quite some time ago I picked up an Amazing Spiderman 210 first Casandra Web the original Madam Web. Now there is questions as to Dakota Johnson being casted as the original Madam Web is old confined to a chair linked to a web. The second one Julia Carpenter was given the powers as Casandra was stabbed to death but before dying she merged with Julia. Typically the original iteration is used hence a gamble on the Secret Wars but because of the younger version people think it will be Carpenter although Casndra in the comics turned young at one point. In either case people are saying both are likely which is what I agree with. So the spec game with books is not easy you may get it or you may not and like everything thing else you need to be prepared for being wrong as much as you wish to be right. Having said that you do the best with the information you have. I have been lucky too. I bought an Amazing Spiderman 101 first Morbius for $10. A week later the movie was announced the book in my condition became a $100 book. Everything is driven by movies and further still merchandise. Disney markets the shiate out of everything is a consistent beast at getting things out so people tend to still with the Marvel books which on the whole tend to be costlier than DC and others but key old books like your Detective 27 first Batman depending on grade is in the 100 thousands and millions less if really beat up but still thousands even without the cover. A single page for heaven sake could go for $500 to $1000!!!??? Just know your markets you will make good monies.
